At about 2000 hours on Tuesday
night, just as both companies of NEFD were finishing up drill, Crescent
and Fuller were dispatched
to a MVA. Dispatch reports that there was
possible entrapment. Fuller L-5 arrived on location and reported that
there was 1 vehicle
with extremely heavy damage. Additional units
arrived to find that there are 3 vehicles with heavy damage. Entrapment
was reported
on all vehicles. EMS crews and Rescue 208 extricated one
person from the first vehicle. LifeStar/Stat 17 was called to the scene,
along with assistance from Harborcreek and Station 70. Harborcreek 228
and 227 arrived. Crescent 217 transported one patient to
the hospital
with Medic 193 from EmergyCare. Crescent 207 transported two Class 3
patients to the hospital. Harborcreek 227,
Medic 192 transported a
patient to the landing zone which was set up by Fuller Hose. LifeStar/Stat
17 was unable to land in the
space provided, and Harborcreek 227 and
Medic 192 transported to LifeStar base to pickup the flight crew. In
total, 5 patients
were transported to the hospital.
