July 31st, 2010: Crescent Hose Company responded to Freeport Beach to assist with the arrival of a swimmer who crossed Lake Erie in a 24 mile, 18 hour journey. While Squad 217 was on location, a call went out for the Crescent and Fuller Hose Companies for a possible water rescue. Flares were deployed from a boat in distress. Quick action by a member of the general public averted crisis. Afterwards, Crescent 208 joined Crescent 217.

March 9th, 2010:  At about 2000 hours on Tuesday night, just as both companies of NEFD were finishing up drill, Crescent and Fuller were dispatched to a MVA. Dispatch reports that there was possible entrapment. Fuller L-5 arrived on location and reported that there was 1 vehicle with extremely heavy damage. Additional units arrived to find that there are 3 vehicles with heavy damage. Entrapment was reported on all vehicles. READ MORE
